Eat Food To Lose Weight
68
If you really want to lose weight you need to eat!
Eating is part of how we survive as humans, yet we really don't think about what we are putting inside our bodies. Thinking about what goes into your body will make a big difference in how you look and how you feel. It can even make you look younger and live a longer life if you choose the right foods and remember to eat real food. To effectively lose weight you need to eat real food.

Juicing is a great way to give your body the vitamins and nutrients that it needs in one easy and fun to make drink. You can use all of your favorite fruits and vegetables, you can also mix in a few that you might not like with the ones you do like.
Why It Is Important To Eat Real Food
Obesity is a huge issue and as we are all aware, Americans are at epidemic levels when it comes to being overweight. Let's face it, we don't think about what is inside the food we are consuming. We see it at the store, it looks good, we buy it, and eat it. Same thing with fast food, it's convenient, we stop, we order and we eat it.
I believe that the chemicals and preservatives that are in our foods here in America is what is making us fat and eventually causing disease and early death. Add in the mass quantities of food we eat (think about the portions they serve us at restaurants) and the fact that we are just not active enough. That combination has made us a overweight nation.
But we shouldn't try to lose the excess weight by going on those crash diets or fad diets. We need to eat real food.
If you want to lose weight and keep it off for life, then you have to eat. And, I don't mean graze on a bag of Doritos. I mean eat a real meal, eat organic real food. Take a look for a moment at European countries, how many overweight people do you see in France? How many overweight people do you see in Germany or Italy? Not too many. Yes, there are a few here and there, but Europeans eat real organic food with no chemicals. They sit down whether it's at home or in a restaurant and eat real organic food.
It is very common for a European to sit down and eat for an hour then go for a walk or ride bikes or go do something with the family. They don't eat at McDonald's and have a big mac and fries and a coke then go home and watch TV or play video games, they eat real food and then they burn it off. I'm not trying to say Europeans are better than us, they just know the secret to staying thin. Eat real food, exercise, and spend time away from the television.
What we need to do as Americans is learn from people who live in Europe and do what they do. Live like a European and I guarantee the weight will melt off of your body. It may not happen overnight, but it will come off in a few months. and then keep coming off until your body is comfortable with it's weight.
The Reason I Wrote This Hub
This Hub was written because I have a passion for eating healthy and taking care of my body. The contents of this Hub are my opinion and are from my own experiences that I have encountered over the years. What I am writing about is what I believe is causing us Americans to get sick with disease and live shorter lives. I believe that old saying "You are what you eat"
If you eat a healthy organic diet and try to stay away from as many chemical laden foods and other toxins in our environment and if you are active and not sedetary you can prevent obesity, and a ton of other diseases that can kill you.
You can live a longer, better quality life if you just change the way you eat and just move more often. You don't even have to go to the gym. Just take a walk or ride a bike.
Hopefully this is a helpful and inspiring Hub and not offensive in any way. Because that is not my intention. I just want people to stop for a minute and think about what goes into your body and what you do to your body everyday.

Excellent Hub! You're right, I have a mate in Santa Monica who I met there in 1986. He is now 60 years young and has been eating organic since the 1970's. Plays volleyball daily and workouts on the rings times a week. He looka 15 years younger and his fitness level is unbelievable.
What you have shared with us works! Tweeted you to my weight loss followers. Cheers, Barry:)
Thank you for a very informative and helpful hub. I agree that we Americans have some very bad habits that can be easily rectified. We just had a Whole Foods built nearby and I am so excited as they are all about real food/organic. I hit many buttons here. Thank you for sharing your knowledge with us.
A very informative and useful hub, we do need to just stop and think about what we're eating, as tarajeyaram said 'you are what you eat' I think that's very true.
Thank you and voted up.
One thing worth mentioning is, your brain consumes 30% of the nutrients in the food we eat, if we eat food that are unhealthy, you are feeding your brain unhealthy nutrients, and this effects the decision making process. Good hub betsuz, voted up and interesting :)
Thanks for this betsuz, great article and good advice for healthy living, I can't believe the quantities and size proportions in the US, it's a bit scary isn't it?? and thanks for the follow, very much appreciate it!
So true! You need to eat less chemically preserved food and more natural fruits and vegetables...it is the secret to healthy eating and losing weight.

Great hub - you are what you eat. I am not sure that people in Europe are better than Americans at eating habits. I don't know enough stats. However obesity is a problem for the developed countries. Lifestyle has changed. Voted up.
